Doc Popcorn

Doc Popcorn

Where you can get it: FlatIron Crossing, Northfield Stapleton, Whole Foods and Web site
Business owners: Rob and Renée Israel
Location: Broomfield

Tidbits: In need of some sweet, yet healthier, holiday munchies? Try a handful of Doc popcorn. The snack comes in several flavors, including the sweet favorite kettle, but happens to be made of all-natural ingredients. And, according to co-owner Rob Israel, the popcorn is made right on the spot. "Mixing flavors, like butter and cinnamon, is really popular," Israel said. "We've been able to create an indulgent, yet natural snack."

Doc Popcorn started in 2001 with an addiction to kettle corn, and the idea for an indoor popping system that eventually came to life. In December 2003, the company opened its first store in the FlatIron Crossing mall. Since then, Doc popcorn has popped up in Whole Foods and is the exclusive popcorn at the Broomfield Event Center. "Our long-term goal is to be the popcorn brand of choice," Israel added. This season, shoppers can purchase holiday tins they fill by request. Or, for the Doc popcorn lover in your life, the home-popping kit, which comes with five different flavors.
