Did you know that franchised businesses are the source of nearly 21 million jobs? While this number reflects both the direct and indirect contributions of franchising (indirect due to affiliations with non-franchised supplier businesses), franchising has a substantial effect on employment.
With Labor Day right around the corner; I would like to express appreciation for the large number of employees that are part of the franchise workforce. At the same time, I want to acknowledge the economic impact franchising has on the U.S. economy, producing goods and services worth $880.9 billion per year, and contributing $2.31 trillion of annual output.
Franchises can also help revitalize neighborhoods. New franchise businesses moving into older neighborhoods can create a domino effect, bringing more and more new businesses to the area, thus creating an updated marketplace for consumers. Today’s real estate market has made many previously out-of-reach properties affordable again.
